What’s the single best piece of advice you can give a homeowner before they start this journey?
Building a pool is a big decision! I want homeowners to know that this process should be enjoyable, exciting, and built on trust. When a homeowner can relax, trust our process, and enjoy creating a beautiful pool for their backyard, the experience turns out great! Designing and building a swimming pool shouldn’t be stressful, have fun with it, and let us create something special!
- What’s the first thing you want to know about a client when you meet them?
Understanding each customer, their design style, their vision for the backyard, and how I can best meet their needs is crucial to creating the best customer experience. I want to know what makes them excited about their project so I can deliver the best design and build them an amazing pool and backyard!
- What’s the most common mistake you see homeowners make when planning a new pool?
Focusing on cost rather than focusing on the best design for their backyard living space. Budget is important and we work hard to design pools that fit each customer’s bottom line. But focusing on the “cheapest” pool or trying to cut corners is the biggest mistake homeowners can make. My approach is to provide the best value and to create a design that fits each customer’s needs to produce ongoing happiness for years to come!
- How do you approach a design for a difficult or unusually shaped backyard?
All pool projects require a personal approach; some jobs can be more challenging than others, which is why choosing a skilled designer with construction experience is so important. Yards with elevation changes, difficult access, or unique spacing can create critical design elements, making my experience beneficial for new customers. I like to listen to my customers’ vision, gather all the information, and then work on a design that fits the space and can be built correctly.
