I have been in the pool, spa, and backyard design industry for 30 years. What I enjoy most is getting to know my clients, designing outdoor spaces that exceed their expectations, and watching those visions come to life through construction.

After spending four years in the U.S. Navy, I studied architecture at ASU, which naturally led me to a career in outdoor design. I’m most proud of the lasting relationships I’ve built and the countless clients who continue to refer me to their friends, family, and coworkers.

  • Where do you find inspiration for a new project?
My design inspiration starts by getting to know my clients and creating a wish list, then tapping into my 25+ years of design experience to create a living space that checks as many boxes as possible for them.

  • What’s a design element or feature you believe every great pool should have?

Every client is different; therefore, every design should be tailored specifically to meet the needs of that client.
  • What’s the most common mistake you see homeowners make when planning a new pool?
Many homeowners do not consider how the sun moves in the sky throughout the day and especially as the seasons change. This greatly affects placement of design elements such as shade structures, media walls and baja shelfs.
  • How do you approach a design for a difficult or unusually shaped backyard?
I embrace unusual backyards because they require more imagination and creativity to overcome the challenges they present. They offer an opportunity to create a very unique space for their owner.
