THE CLASSIC POOL GAMES REFRESHER

It's almost here! It's almost here! Pool season is almost here again!

While sending out the invitations to your Pool Opening Backyard BBQ this month, prepare everyone to shake off the winter boredom and jump into a day full of classic pool games!

As a safety note, most of these games require that participants be strong swimmers. Make sure to keep an eye on each other take a rest whenever needed.

Marco Polo (2+ Players)

One player is "it," and he or she, with eyes shut, will count to 15 while the other players scatter around the pool. Then, the "it" player starts shouting "Marco" and listens as the other players yell "Polo." The "it" player tries to reach and tag one of the other players by following the sound of their voice. Once tagged, that person then becomes the "it" player and everyone scatters all over again!

Sharks and Minnows (4+ Players)

One player is designated as the Shark. All the other players (a.k.a. Minnows) jump in at one end of the pool and try to swim across, while the Shark tries to tag them, which turns them into Sharks as well. The Minnows keep swimming until all but one has been converted to a Shark. That person wins! And is now the Shark for the next round.

Dolphin/Mermaid Races (2+ Players)

Who can swim for the longest while holding their breath?

Diving for Treasure (2+ Players)

Whether using diving sticks, coins or other "treasure," someone throws items in the deep end while the "divers" close their eyes or look away. If there is more than one diver, it becomes a competition to see who can collect the most treasure the fastest!

Cannon Ball Contest (2+ Players)

You know you've been waiting for it. Who can make the biggest splash?

Cheers to lots of fun in the 2016 pool season!
